WCB Lined Flanged Diaphragm Valve Series

WCB Lined Flanged Diaphragm Valve Series

Product parameters
WCB Lined Flanged Diaphragm Valve Series

This lined, flanged diaphragm valve series uses a WCB cast-steel body, with lining options selected for the service. The body, lining and diaphragm are separate material items.

Construction and material or offset selection

The operating mechanism moves or deforms the diaphragm to open or close the passage at the seat. WCB identifies the pressure-containing metal body, not the lining or diaphragm. Specify the body lining, diaphragm wetted face and any backing layers separately. PFA, FEP and PTFE are different materials, not interchangeable names. Confirm available materials and the order-specific model in the supply documents; a single lining name or model does not describe every configuration in this series.

Selection, installation and maintenance

Provide fluid composition, concentration, normal and design pressure and temperature, solids, cleaning method, operating frequency and connection requirements. Review chemical compatibility, permeation, thermal cycling and diaphragm fatigue together. Check flange details, face-to-face dimensions, opening height and diaphragm replacement space against the actual drawing. Protect lining faces during installation and isolate, depressurize and safely drain before maintenance. No unsupported size range, pressure class combination, temperature envelope, actuator interface or certification is assigned to the whole series.

Frequently asked questions

Does a WCB body mean all wetted parts are cast steel?

No. WCB identifies the metal body. The lining, diaphragm and other wetted components must be listed separately in the materials schedule.

Must the lining and diaphragm be the same material?

Select the body lining and diaphragm separately for their respective functions. Specify each material, wetted layer and backing arrangement for the operating conditions.

Is the fluid name enough for material selection and a quotation?

Usually not. Provide composition, concentration, pressure and temperature, solids and cleaning conditions, plus size, connections, operation and acceptance requirements.

Prepare a quotation for this valve

For this WCB diaphragm-valve series, list the body lining and diaphragm materials separately.

Fluid and cleaning

Composition, concentration, solids, cleaning method and operating cycles.

Material selection

Required body lining, diaphragm wetted face and backing layers, all identified separately.

Fit and access

Flange drawing, face-to-face length, opening height and diaphragm replacement clearance.

Documents to agree before supply

  • Offered lining/diaphragm material schedule
  • Order-specific dimensioned drawing
  • Diaphragm replacement instructions and agreed inspection requirements

Ask which documents are available for the offered configuration and agree their scope before supply. A catalogue picture is not a certified drawing or test report.
