01 Why are check valves usually installed at the pump outlet?
The installation of check valves at the pump outlet is mainly to prevent reverse flow after the pump stops and to reduce the impact of reverse flow and pressure fluctuations on the pump and the system. The specific installation position and valve type should be determined through system hydraulic calculations, pump type, flow rate, water hammer risk, installation direction, and maintenance conditions; whether to install a bottom valve or other check devices at the pump inlet is another issue related to the system design.
