Product identity and operation
J45F46 is a handwheel-operated, flanged Y-pattern globe valve with a WCB metal pressure-containing body and FEP (F46) lining on the specified wetted surfaces. The stem moves the disc axially to open or close the flow passage. “Y-pattern” describes the valve layout; it does not mean electrical direct current or “DC”.
Body and lining are different components
The metal body carries structural loads; the specified lining separates the fluid from the covered metal surfaces. FEP, PTFE and PFA are distinct fluoropolymers. This page identifies FEP (F46), not PTFE (F4), as the lining for J45F46. A different lining requires a separately confirmed configuration.
Selection and installation checks
Match the fluid and concentration, design pressure and temperature, flange standard, facing and dimensions to the approved valve documents. Check the lining, seat and packing limits together. A resin data sheet is not a complete-valve temperature rating. Use the body flow marking and the product drawing to determine installation direction.
Purchasing questions
Is this an electrically operated valve? The current product is handwheel-operated. Y-pattern describes the flow-path layout, not an electrical supply specification.
Can FEP be replaced with PTFE or PFA without review? No. Specify the actual lining and confirm the complete configuration and compatibility.
What is needed for a quotation?Provide fluid composition and concentration, operating and design conditions, size, flange interface and inspection requirements; request the corresponding drawing and lining specification.
