How does the double-L ball work?
The ball contains two separate L-shaped passages. Turning it approximately a quarter turn changes two pairs of port connections together. The actual connected ports in each position must be checked against the approved flow diagram and pipeline numbering; do not infer them from the handle alone.
Is this the same as an X-port valve?
No. Double-L and X-port describe different drilling and flow arrangements. This page concerns the double-L four-way flanged valve. An X-port or other multiport arrangement must be specified and confirmed as a different configuration.

How should the valve be specified?
Provide the fluid, operating and design pressure and temperature, required port-to-port connections, pipe size, flange standard, materials and operating duty. Manual, gearbox or automated operation must be matched to the required torque and limit positions. Confirm actuator power, signal and fail action for the selected assembly.
What must be checked before installation?
Verify flange drilling and facing, face-to-face dimensions, port markings, maintenance space and the approved flow diagram. Body material does not establish ball, stem or seat material. Ordinary switching duty does not establish a characterised flow-control capability.
Can pressure, temperature and dimensions be inferred from this page?
No numerical rating or interchangeable flange size is established by the generic description. Obtain the approved drawing, complete-valve pressure–temperature limits, material specification and agreed leakage test requirements for the ordered configuration.
